Up in our nation’s hat.
It’s national bridge week for me on tumblr. Did you know the year the GW bridge opened (1931) suicide went up 22.8% in the surrounding neighborhoods?

This is not Boston, this is the Bandra-Worli Sea Link located in Mumbai, India. Over the course of the time I was in Mumbai with Karishma I went over it many times, and in all the light and all the angles it managed to provide a different experience every time.
Some nights it was after a night of dancing, other’s fancy dinners, and some to visit family friends. But one thing stayed constant, the silly toll system where they stamp your receipt and how Karishma mastered it by flying by with it in her hand.
This amazing feat of architecture cuts the commute by hours and turns it into minutes by use of viaducts (yes I am an architect nerd). It cost $319 Million dollars and has around 37k cars a day on it. Also an interesting and sad fact due to the recent years of terrorism is that it uses mobile explosive scanners. The scans take less than 20 seconds as vehicles pass from above and below. Around 180 cars are scanned per hour by each scanner.
Keep walking.
