Only accept the best in happy hour, the Bulleit Woody Tailgate Trailer
In the Mexican city of Monterrey, where the over development of newly built suburbs affect peoples daily lives and customs, there is a large bridge spanning Highway 85. On that bridge Alejandro Cartagena pointed his camera down at the morning traffic. He was seeking and peeking into the backs of open trucks, where construction workers often pile together on their way to earn a living. Like commuters everywhere, they sleep, eat, read and talk on their way to work. Often they look up, and maybe they notice someone taking their picture.
We are all commuting to be something.
My brother Seth with my mother, holding up the Mother’s Day present he made for my Mom.
My mother is the strongest, sweetest person in the universe. She is my hero and on a daily basis shows me and everyone around her time and time again to not take anything that you have for granted. To always fight with everything you have. To maintain a positive outlook. To be patient. I could go on forever. Thank you so much Mom, for being the light that guides me, for being the role model and for being the most positive and supportive person of me and everything I do and want. I love you with all my heart, no one can every come close to being as strong and incredible as you are. You are living proof that a positive mentality can conquer anything and everything. I wish for you to have many more years of happiness and of excellent health. You are amazing and unfortunately I have run out of words to accurately portray what kind of incredible impact you have on me and everyone else who is lucky enough to have their lives be touched by you. Every time someone asks me about you and how you’re doing, they all say how strong of a person you are and commend you on your ongoing fight your illness. They all respect you and everyone (and I mean everyone) tells me how you are the strongest and most loving and genuine person they know. I know I may be a little biased, but if everyone is telling me that verbatim, it has to be true! I love you so much. I am the luckiest girl and daughter in the entire world. Thank you for being you and for touching so many lives, especially mine. Happy Mother’s Day! ♥
I was born and raised on the shores of New Jersey. My mother at the time was already separated from my father, living in an apartment with identical twins and a 10 year old. When she came to America at 18 to study English and business, she promised herself she would never let anything stop herself from success, and she didn’t. One day she met Mimi, a sweet woman with a kind heart. She took Mimi in to care for us, raise us and teach us everything we had to know while my my mother courageously worked. With time came success, and my sisters, mimi and I saw my mother flourish in her career no matter what milestone she faced along the way. Today, she is a breast cancer survivor, runs her own preschool she had built when I was 5 years old, has real estate around the world, owns a dairy farm in Jordanville, NY, and runs her own Mexican Restaurant. If there was an opportunity that presented itself, she would seize it. I’m so proud to have a mother who is strong, determined and cares so deeply for her daughters. She truly is an inspiration. Happy Mothers Day Mom!
